Director of Manufacturing

Job Introduction
The DOM must be experienced with depth and first hand knowledgeable and proficiency in WCM concepts, MAFACT application and Lean Manufacturing principles to elevate the Division to a leading and sustaining showcase status for excellence in world class manufacturing that embraces lean manufacturing as core to its success and culture. Possessing the capability to positively instill an operating philosophy that involves all our employees in the value of standardized work, 5S, visual factory and value stream mapping is critical.
Major Responsibilities
Assists in establishing current and long range objectives, plans and policies.
Advises, guides, directs and authorizes personnel to carry out major plans and procedures consistent with established policies and corporate approval.
Assist in managing the adequacy and soundness of the division's financial structure.
Reviews operating results of the division, compares them to established objectives and ensures appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the division.
Assists in representing the division with major customers, financial community and the public.
Assists in planning, developing and implementing organization policies and goals.
Coordinates activities of departments.
Assists in directing and coordinating the promotion of products manufactured or services performed to develop new markets, increase market share and obtain competitive position in the industry.
Assists in analyzing division or department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made. Assists in the allocation of the operating budget.
Participates in problem solving and continuous improvement activities.
In the absence of the General Manager, directs, promotes and reviews programs relating to safety, quality and productivity in the division and recommends changes where desirable.
Performs regular workplace inspections and monitors compliance with all Health and Safety and ISO14001 policies and procedures.
Duties include, but are not limited to: establish safety goals and objectives; review of safety statistics and loss runs; lead formal management safety committee; and participate in workplace inspections.

Multi-disciplinary problem solving - The problems are unique, complex and multi-disciplinary and require the identification of critical situations. A profound investigation is necessary, as well as the development of analyzing methods using multi-disciplinary abilities to solve the problems. The independence of judgments is necessary.
Internal Relations- Influencing and Negotiation - The person occupying the position communicates complex and sensitive matters to the personnel of all levels, influences and negotiates with other persons of high levels in a wide range of matters.
External Relations - Representative of the Organization - The person occupying this position represents the organization and negotiates in a predetermined and restricted area.
Decision Making - Wide Area - The position makes critical decisions which will have an impact on the related areas in the medium term.
Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
Minimum five (5) years in a senior manufacturing or general management capacity with eight (8) years operations/manufacturing leadership experience; or equivalent.
Requires wide knowledge of the principles and concepts of one area and general knowledge of other areas directly related with the primary area. The knowledge is acquired during university education.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
